Ballgowns: British Glamour since 1950

This exhibition has just closed at the V&A but it was well worth the view if just for the dazzling dresses. I have long been a tad obsessed with the world of the débutante, and the season of swirling and courting all with the hope of walking down the aisle with an eligible young man and this exhibition has the allure and seduction of this time. The display of ballgowns celebrates the 'Cinderella moment' and has a real sense of occasion in the Jubilee and Olympic year, I especially loved the contemporary dresses on the mezzanine particularly seeing a McQueen feather dress up close.
